What our customers say
Real reviews from Melbourne and Geelong customers, straight from our Google profile.
How much does cleaning cost?
It depends on the size of the job, the condition, and any extras like pet treatment — so we quote each job rather than publish a rate that turns out not to fit. What we do promise: a fixed price, confirmed before we start, and never an hourly rate that creeps.
How long does carpet take to dry?
Usually two to six hours, depending on ventilation, humidity and the season. Melbourne winters are slower. We bring air movers when drying time matters.
Are your products safe for kids and pets?
Yes. Biodegradable pre-sprays, neutral rinses, and no harsh residue left in the fibres. That is the whole point of how we clean.
Do you move furniture?
We move light furniture as part of the job and put it back on protective tabs. We do not move beds, pianos or anything with electronics on it — for your safety and ours.
Can you get rid of pet smells for good?
Usually, yes. Urine soaks into the underlay, so surface cleaning only masks it. We treat the source with enzyme and oxidiser treatments. If it has reached the subfloor, we will tell you honestly what is achievable before we start.
How often should I clean my carpets?
Every 12 to 18 months for most homes. Every 6 to 12 if you have pets, kids, or a hallway that takes a beating. Manufacturers often require professional cleaning to keep a warranty valid.
Will cleaning shrink my wool carpet?
Not the way we do it. Wool needs lower heat and lower alkalinity than synthetic carpet, and controlled moisture. We identify the fibre before anything wet goes near it.
Do I legally have to steam clean the carpets?
Not automatically. Under Victoria’s Residential Tenancies Act 1997 you must leave the property “reasonably clean”. Consumer Affairs Victoria says a professional cleaning requirement depends on the condition the property was in when you moved in, recorded on the condition report, and on whether professional cleaning is actually needed to return it to that condition. We include carpet steam cleaning in our end of lease package because it is what agents most often ask for — not because the law demands it in every case. Check your lease and condition report, or the Consumer Affairs Victoria website, before you agree to anything.
What is the difference between end of lease, bond and vacate cleaning?
Nothing — they are three names for the same service. Agents and tenants use them interchangeably.
What if the agent is not happy?
Send us the inspection report within 7 days and we return to re-clean the areas they flagged, at no cost. We guarantee the clean meets the standard; we cannot guarantee what an agent decides about your bond, and nobody honestly can.
Is it the same cleaner each time?
Yes. We assign you a cleaner and keep them on your job, so they learn your home rather than re-learning it every fortnight.
Is there a lock-in contract?
No. Weekly, fortnightly, monthly or one-off — pause or cancel whenever you need to.
Do you work weekends and after hours?
Yes. Saturdays are our busiest day, and we take after-hours bookings for offices and end-of-lease jobs with a tight deadline.
Do you service Geelong?
Yes — Geelong, Newtown, Highton, Belmont, Torquay, Ocean Grove and the Bellarine, with the same team and the same pricing. We also travel to Frankston, the Mornington Peninsula, Ballarat and Bendigo.
Do you charge extra to travel to regional Victoria?
Sometimes a small travel component applies for Ballarat, Bendigo and the outer Peninsula. It is always included in the fixed price we give you — never added on the day.
What if I am not happy?
The Eco Mate 7-Day Promise: tell us within 7 days of the clean and we come back and re-clean the areas you are not happy with, free. It covers the work listed on your quote, in the condition the property was in when we left it. It is not a refund guarantee and it cannot reverse permanent damage such as bleach marks, dye or fibre burns — we point those out at the inspection before we start.
